Costa Blanca Extra Special Classic
Climbs |
|
We have
picked three of what are, in our opinion, the most popular trad climbs
of the region. These activity days are aimed at climbers grade 5+ who
would like to do a special climb with a fully qualified and
experienced climbing guide and not have to worry about route finding,
having the right gear or the descent. You can concentrate on enjoying
the rock, the magnificent views, the solitude and atmosphere of
beautiful limestone walls. |

The Divino |
|
 |
The Peña
de Sella is the mountain range that soars above the village of Sella
and at the eastern end is the 1116 metre wall that is the Divino. With its
multi pitch routes and divine view, it is easily the most impressive
bit of rock in Sella, sitting majestically above the rest and waiting
for those who demand just a little bit more from their climbing.

The Mascarat Gorge |
|
The Mascarat Gorge is the
dramatic split in the Bernia Ridge just south of Calpe. This rather
strange and atmospheric setting has some spectacular mountain routes.
Years ago, this would have been a truly magnificent place full of
natural beauty. Now, this gorge has an `A’ road, a motorway and a
railway running through it. Strangely enough, this adds its own
special interest to the routes. Sitting above a dual carriageway which
disappears into a tunnel while belaying your partner is a unique and
unforgettable experience! As you ascend into the vertical world, there
are fantastic views; the Peñon d´Ifach to the north and the Benidorm
skyline to the south. Featured as one of Rockfax´s top 50 climbs. |

The Peñon
d´Ifach |
 |
This is
the most striking landmark in the whole of the Costa Blanca – a huge
lump of limestone rock towering 332 metres out of the sea. The
incredible setting of this mountain makes it a must for any climber
visiting the area. It offers long multi-pitch routes, easy access and
descent. Try it - you won´t be disappointed and the view from the top
really has to be seen to be believed. Once again, featured as one of
Rockfax´s top 50 climbs. |
