Want to expand your
caching stats? Running out of
caches local to your home coordinates? Maybe you have a
landmark cache approaching e.g. #100 or #1000? Why not make it a
truly memorable event by doing something special?
A blend of stunning walks and a weeks Geocaching
based in Sella, Costa Blanca, Spain, that features both official geocaching.com caches but
also includes some tailor made caches in stunning locations (not to be
found on the geocaching.com website).
This spectacular corner of the Alicante Province in the Valencia
region has been nicknamed "Little Switzerland". Recently described
in a travel magazine as one of the most beautiful areas in Europe,
it is enclosed by magnificent mountain peaks and ranges. In the
middle of this awesome scenery, yet still only 20 minutes from the
coast, lies the village of Sella
nestling
under the spectacular Sierra Aitana which at 1557 metres, is the
highest point in the province of Alicante.
A typical GeoBreak week would be as
follows:(but can be adapted to suit individual needs and
requirements)
As the week progresses you would use
your geocaching skills and experience to piece together the
coordinates of the 'Super Multi-Cache' which would culminate
on the 7th day with the discovery of the final cache and it's
'Super Swag'.
1st Day: Arrival, introduction
to your accommodation, a tour of the village
and one or two local geocache's
(depending on arrival time)
5th Day: Free day to do
whatever you want - a day on the beach, a guided walk, the local
pool, sightseeing or maybe even some more geocaching! The choice
is yours.
2nd Day: The Mountain Villages Caching Trail - during
today's cache hunt you will experience Spanish rural life,
dramatic landscapes and local cuisine while exploring the area's
typical mountain villages.
6th Day: Another day of official geocaching.com caches,
but this time we will be heading in a northerly direction.
Once again in the evening we will log our finds on the geocaching.com website.
(Packed lunch provided)
3rd Day: We head off south down the coast today and try to
do as many official geocaching.com caches as time will allow
including a trip to The Canelobre Caves
(where there is of
course another cache) In the evening we will log our finds on
the geocaching.com website. (Packed lunch provided)

7th Day:
The
'Super Multi-Cache'
Hopefully
your combination of geocaching, observational and problem
solving skills will have combined to identify the correct
coordinates for the final stage of the super cache
and take
you to a place where 'real Moorish treasure'
was found in
the past!
4th Day: The '3 Peak Geocaching Challenge'. A stunning
and challenging walk in the heart of this beautiful and rugged countryside,
incorporating the summits of 3 local mountains, the first of which
being the magnificent
Puig Campana
mountain. (Packed lunch provided). Successful completion of the
'3 Peaks' entitles you to a 3 Peaks Challenge Certificate!
8th Day: Departure (but
hopefully time will permit one last geocache on Spanish soil!)
