The Peņa de Sella Walk

Soaring almost vertically 600 metres above the village of Sella is the mountain range known as the Peņa de Sella. Our walk along the Peņa is very special, endless breathtaking views, a feeling of being alone with nature and a genuine sensation of being 'on top of the world' all combine to give you a truly memorable day out.

From Sella we continue up the mountain road gaining more height (another 400m) and turn into the Tagarina Valley (located between the Peņa de Sella and the Sierra Aitana) where we will start our walk.

The duration of the walk varies from group to group, but is around 3 hours, so you are able to take your time and enjoy your surroundings.

On a clear day from the top of the mountain we have a panoramic view that stretches from Sella, across ancient almond terraces to the sea, Benidorm, Calpe, Alicante and beyond. We may also see various wild herbs, which add a sweet scent to the air and if we are lucky, we may see some rare birdlife. At an appropriate time and chosen location we stop, relax and enjoy an 'al fresco' picnic.
